Program Overview
On-Campus After-School Classes
To provide students with a safe, orderly, enriching, and varied after-school learning environment, the school offers an on-campus After-School Program.
The program centers on Chinese-language learning and features holistic enrichment. It combines structured Chinese study with a wide range of activities, including calligraphy, reading aloud, public speaking, performance, martial arts, music, and visual arts.
We want students not only to continue reinforcing and improving their Chinese skills after school, but also to discover their interests, build confidence, and develop communication and creativity through diverse courses, making every afternoon both rewarding and meaningful.
To meet different families’ after-school schedules and pickup needs, the school offers three time options:
1. Program Hours

Parents may choose a time slot based on the student’s learning needs and the family’s pickup arrangements.
To protect student safety and maintain the normal order of the After-School Program, parents are asked to pick up their children promptly at the registered end time.
2. Program Structure
The program uses a “one-hour core Chinese class + one to two hours of enrichment” model, with the schedule arranged according to the student’s selected time slot.
1. Core Chinese Course
One hour of Chinese learning each dayChinese is the core of the After-School Program. Instruction is arranged according to each student’s age, grade, and Chinese level, with an emphasis on developing integrated listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
Course content includes character recognition, vocabulary, reading, reading aloud, writing, oral expression, and Chinese culture.
Through sustained, systematic Chinese learning, we help students:
- Strengthen foundational Chinese knowledge
- Expand character recognition and vocabulary
- Improve Chinese reading and comprehension
- Strengthen Chinese speaking and expression
- Develop strong Chinese reading and study habits
- Deepen understanding of Chinese language and culture
We want students not only to “learn Chinese,” but also to gradually build the ability to read, think, communicate, and express themselves in Chinese.
3. Enrichment Courses
In addition to the one-hour core Chinese class each day, the school schedules one to two hours of enrichment according to the student’s registered time slot.
Enrichment combines language, culture, arts, physical activity, and hands-on practice, allowing students to develop interests and well-rounded abilities in a relaxed and engaging environment.
Reading Aloud
Through reading Chinese poems, essays, fairy tales, and other literary works, students improve Mandarin expression, language sense, Chinese comprehension, and expressive ability.
Public Speaking
Through themed presentations, story sharing, and speech practice, students learn to organize language, express ideas clearly, and speak confidently in public.
Performance
Role-play, situational dialogue, storytelling, and stage activities let students use Chinese in authentic, engaging settings while developing expression, imagination, and teamwork.
Martial Arts
Basic martial arts movements and physical training develop coordination, strength, and focus while introducing students to traditional Chinese physical culture.
Singing
Chinese songs, rhythm, and musical activities help students encounter and use Chinese naturally while building musical interest and increasing language input.
Visual Arts
Drawing, creative design, and themed art activities develop observation, imagination, aesthetic awareness, and artistic expression.
Handcrafts
A colorful variety of paper cutting, paper folding, clay modeling, themed projects, and other activities strengthens students’ hands-on skills, focus, and creativity.
Enrichment courses are adjusted appropriately according to student age, class composition, course themes, and teacher availability. Content may vary on different days.

Martial arts and other activities provide appropriate movement alongside study for more balanced development.
Foundation for AP Chinese
Build vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking skills steadily to prepare students for future AP Chinese study.
5. Tuition
Monthly tuition varies according to the selected end time:

For a family with two children enrolled, the second child receives a 20% tuition discount.
Families may choose monthly payments or a single payment for the full semester.
Monthly Payment
Pay the applicable monthly tuition according to the selected After-School Program time slot.
Semester Payment Discount
Families who pay the full semester in one payment receive a $50 discount from that semester’s total After-School Program tuition.
Semester tuition formula:Monthly tuition × number of billed months in the semester − $50
For example, if a semester is calculated as five months:

The semester tuition shown above uses five months as an example. Actual tuition is calculated according to the specific number of billed months in that semester.
6. Registration & Time-Slot Selection
When registering, parents should select the student’s specific After-School Program time slot and complete payment according to the applicable tuition standard.
If the end time needs to be changed during the semester, please contact the school in advance. Changes are subject to the school’s final confirmation. When a change affects tuition, fees will be adjusted according to the applicable standard.
Registration dates, payment due dates, course schedules, and policies regarding absences and refunds are governed by the information published by the school for the applicable semester.
