Program Overview

Weekend Chinese Arts Program

To help students pursue systematic Chinese learning on weekends while choosing distinctive courses based on their interests and developmental needs, the school offers a “1+2N” weekend learning model.

1. What Is “1+2N”?

1 = One-hour core Chinese course2N = Two student-selected enrichment courses, one hour each

Each weekend session therefore totals three hours:

Course ComponentLearning TimeCourse Content
1 hourCore Chinese course
1 hourFirst student-selected enrichment course
1 hourSecond student-selected enrichment course
Total3 hoursChinese + two distinctive enrichment courses

This model ensures stable, systematic Chinese learning every week while giving students ample freedom to personalize their learning according to their interests, strengths, and developmental needs.

2. “1” — Core Chinese Course

Each Weekend Chinese Arts Program session includes one hour of core Chinese instruction.

Students are placed and taught according to age, Chinese foundation, and actual learning ability, with an emphasis on developing:

Listening · Speaking · Reading · Writing

Course content includes Chinese characters, vocabulary, reading, reading aloud, oral expression, writing, and Chinese culture.

Through sustained, systematic learning, students gradually expand character recognition and vocabulary, improve Chinese reading, comprehension, and expression, and establish stable long-term learning habits.

3. “N” — Distinctive Enrichment Courses

“N” represents the school’s diverse enrichment offerings.

Students independently select two courses based on their interests, strengths, and learning needs.

Chinese + Calligraphy + Public SpeakingChinese + Reading Aloud + PerformanceChinese + Singing + Visual ArtsChinese + Martial Arts + Visual Arts

Students can combine courses according to their interests and learning needs.

This approach preserves Chinese as a systematic core course while giving students with different personalities, interests, and developmental directions their own course combinations.

5. Three Daily Weekend Time Slots

To help families plan their weekends, the school offers three daily time slots, each lasting three hours.

Time SlotClass TimeHour 1Hour 2Hour 3
Morning9:00 AM – 12:00 PMCore ChineseN Course ①N Course ②
Afternoon1:00 PM – 4:00 PMCore ChineseN Course ①N Course ②

Different students can complete systematic Chinese learning together while choosing distinct developmental directions based on their interests.

7. Features of the “1+2N” Model

One Hour — Build a Strong Chinese Foundation

Core Chinese remains central regardless of the chosen enrichment courses. Long-term, continuous study helps students establish a strong language foundation.

Two N Courses — Respect Children’s Interests

Every child has different interests and strengths. Students choose two courses from multiple N options so learning genuinely fits their interests and developmental needs.

Three Hours — Systematic Learning and Exploration Together

Each three-hour session combines systematic Chinese learning with two enrichment courses, making weekend study focused, varied, and efficient.

1 hour of Chinese + 2 student-selected courses = 3 hours of multidimensional growth
  • “1” is the foundation — systematic Chinese learning.
  • “N” is choice — discovering each child’s interests.
  • “2N” is growth — giving every child a personal learning combination.

Through the “1+2N” model, weekend learning becomes a multidimensional space integrating Chinese, language expression, Chinese culture, arts, physical activity, and creativity rather than a single classroom experience.

Children build foundations through Chinese, discover interests through choice, and develop confidence and strengths through rich course experiences.

8. 1+N Short Class

The 1+N Short Class is a compact two-hour weekend option for students who want systematic Chinese study together with one distinctive enrichment course.

Each session includes one hour of core Chinese and one hour of a student-selected N enrichment course.

1 hour of core Chinese + 1 selected N course = 2 hours of focused learning
